Stanley Cup Final Game 4: Hurricanes win 5-3 to even the series 2-2 as rookie Brandon Bussi wins his playoff debut

Carolina Hurricanes 5, Vegas Golden Knights 3 in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final at T-Mobile Arena Tuesday, evening the series 2-2. Carolina led 3-1, let Vegas climb back to 3-3 (William Karlsson, Mark Stone, Brett Howden), then captain Jordan Staal scored his second goal of the night midway through the third period for the winner, with Nikolaj Ehlers adding an empty-netter; Logan Stankoven and Jackson Blake also scored. The story was in net: rookie Brandon Bussi got the start with Frederik Andersen scratched (not even dressed) and made 18 of 21 to become the first goalie since 1961 to win his playoff debut in a Cup Final. Carter Hart made 23 saves for Vegas. The win hands home ice back to Carolina, which now hosts Games 5 and 7 in Raleigh; our model swings to the Hurricanes at 59%, with the Game 5 goalie call (Bussi or Andersen) the open question. Our pre-game reads split: the over 5.5 cashed at eight goals, but our top goalscorer pick Seth Jarvis did not score. Game 5 is Thursday June 11 in Raleigh. NBA Finals Game 4 (New York leads 2-1) is tonight at MSG.
