How to Bet on MMA & Boxing
The main mma & boxing markets you'll find at any legal US sportsbook, with a one-line take on each.
Moneyline
Pick the fight winner outright. UFC moneylines range from close fights (-150 vs +130) to mismatches (-1500 vs +900). Method of victory not required.
Method of Victory
Bet on how the fight ends: KO/TKO, submission, or decision. Pricing reflects fighter style: grapplers pay best in submission markets; strikers in KO markets.
Round Betting
Bet on which specific round the fight ends in. High-variance, high-payout. Round 1 KO props on heavyweights are popular longshot bets.
Over/Under Rounds
Standard line is 1.5 or 2.5 rounds for 3-round non-title fights and 4.5 for 5-round title fights. Goes Under when one fighter has clear KO power.
Fight to Go the Distance
Yes/no on whether the fight reaches the final bell. Useful when you expect a competitive but unfinished bout.

MMA & Boxing Betting FAQ
What's the difference between UFC and boxing for betting?
UFC fights are 3 rounds (5 for title fights), each 5 minutes. Boxing is 12 rounds for title bouts, each 3 minutes. Boxing fights more often go to decision; UFC fights more often end early. Over/Under round lines reflect this: 1.5-2.5 in UFC, 9.5-10.5 in boxing.
Why do MMA underdogs pay so well?
Single-fight variance is enormous. One punch or one submission attempt can flip a fight regardless of skill gap. Underdogs +200 or longer hit at a higher rate than implied probability suggests over large samples.
Where can I bet UFC and boxing in the US?
Every legal US sportsbook posts UFC and major boxing odds. DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, and bet365 all cover every UFC card with method-of-victory, round, and prop markets opening 5-10 days out.
Are MMA prop bets worth it?
Method of victory and round betting offer significantly better payouts than the straight moneyline, but variance is brutal. Most pros stick to moneyline + over/under rounds and avoid round-specific bets.
