NBA Finals Game 4 preview: Spurs at Knicks tonight at MSG; New York leads 2-1 but the road team has won all three, our picks are Spurs +2.5 and the under

Game 4 of the NBA Finals is tonight, Wednesday June 10 (8:30 p.m. ET, ABC) at Madison Square Garden, with New York leading 2-1 after San Antonio took Game 3 at the Garden 115-111 to end the Knicks' 13-game playoff winning streak. The Knicks can build a near-decisive 3-1 lead (NBA teams up 3-1 close it out about 95% of the time); the Spurs are close to must-win to even it. The defining oddity: the road team has won all three games, only the second time that has happened to open an NBA Finals (the other was 1993, Suns-Bulls). The market makes New York a short home favorite (around -2.5, about -130, with some books at -1.5) and the total 216.5. Our editorial reads (we do not run an NBA model): Spurs +2.5, riding the road-team trend, Spurs desperation, and a dominant Wembanyama; and the under 216.5, with two of the first three games landing under and both teams under-trending on the season. Wembanyama over his points line is the prop. NHL: the Stanley Cup Final is tied 2-2 with Game 5 in Raleigh on Thursday.
